Rockville sits at the edge/lower section of the Interstate 270 Technology Corridor. Sandwiched between Bethesda and Gaithersburg, Rockville’s proximity to both Montgomery and Howard County (via the Intercounty Connector) is hugely beneficial given the range of commercial connections. But commutes into Northern Virginia via Interstate 495—aka Capital Beltway—expands the accessible local universe for both residents and tenants.
The I-270 Technology Corridor is best described as a software and biotechnological hub, not only for the region but for the country. Anchoring the IT and biotech side of the Corridor are firms like Westat, Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen, GlaxoSmithKline, and BioReliance.
